Do I Need to Use a Makeup Primer?
You’ve heard about makeup primers – what are they and do you need one?
Foundation Primer
Foundation Primer is usually a facial cream – similar to a moisturiser but less oily and with more of a matt finish.
You can also get Mineral Primers, in powder form – if you are a Mineral Foundation wearer this may be a good option.
You apply it after your moisturiser, before your foundation. It gives your foundation better coverage and staying power.
Eye Shadow Primer
Eye shadow primer helps eye shadow adhere to the eyelid, stay in place, and also helps prevent the dreaded creasing!
Eye Shadow Primer also:
- Makes your eye shadow easier to blend, providing a smooth canvas on which to apply eye shadow and to help it stay on longer.
- Evens skin tone – Eye shadow primer is used to even out skin colour and discolorations. It’s helpful for those with darkened or discolored eyelids, which is often hereditary. Eye shadow primer can also cover visible veins.
- Intensifies Colour – Eye shadow primer can make the colours in your eyeshadow stand out and look more vibrant.
- Protection – Primer acts as a barrier between your skin and your makeup, giving you extra protection from dirt and grime
